Cecconi, Francesca
Francesca is a process engineer in wastewater treatment at Black & Veatch, at the Walnut Creek office, California where she focuses on research development and consulting. She has achieved her bachelor and masters degree in environmental engineering from the University of Florence, Italy and her PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Irvine. She specializes on process modeling, process optimization and design of nutrient removal/recovery systems. She has been involved in the evaluation and implementation of various innovative treatment processes and technologies at large to small-scale facilities. Innovative treatment processes and technologies she has helped implement include: Aerated Granular Sludge (AGS), RAS fermentation, bioelectrode sensors for anaerobic digestion monitoring and machine learning tools for biological processes sensors application.
