Villez, Kris
Dr. Kris Villez works on sensors and automation in complex environments. This includes the development of specialized algorithms and software tools for sensor management, fault detection and correction, modelling, optimization, and automation. Through his research, he has tested these tools in a diverse range of application domains, including energy production, green house monitoring, and urban water systems. Dr. Villez obtained his PhD in 2007 from Ghent University in Belgium. Following his studies, he was active as a postdoctoral researcher at Laval University in Quebec City, Canada and then at Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, USA. From 2012 until 2019, Dr. Kris Villez was active as a group leader at Eawag, which is the Swiss Federal Institute for Water Science and Technology in Dübendorf, Switzerland. At the end of 2019, he started at Oak Ridge National Laboratory to include advanced manufacturing processes as a field of application for his research.
