WIKRAMANAYAKE, Rohan

Rohan WIKRAMANAYAKE is the Process Leader for the San José-Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility located in San Jose, CA. The RWF is currently undergoing a 1.4 billion Capital Improvement Program that includes getting the plant to accomodate upcoming flows and loads coming into the plant as well as the future regulatory limits. Rohan's main role at the CIP is to evaluate possible new technologies being implemented at the RWF from a process aspect as well as troubleshooting process issues at the plant. Prior to joing the RWF 3 years ago, Rohan worked for 2 leading equipment vendors for a combined 19 years. His role there was mainly R&D activities related to product development and water chemistry. Rohan is a licensed professional engineer from the State of CA and VA.

Abstract

This paper discusses a filter column study conducted by the San Jose/Santa Clara Regional Wastewater Facility (RWF) and the use of that data to select the optimal media configuration and prove the efficiency of air scour for superior performance. The objective of this study is to select the most optimal media configuration and validate air scour for implementation in the Capital Project.
