Abstract
A recent trend in asset management has involved a growing movement towards development and standardization of criteria for measuring performance of an asset management program. In the United States, this process is characterized by the Sustainable Infrastructure Management Program Learning Environment (SIMPLE) program that is being promoted by WERF. In the UK and elsewhere worldwide, this process is characterized by the Publicly Available Specification (PAS) 55. This paper provides a background description of each assessment methodology as well as a comparison of the methodologies according to some key attributes.
