Private Stormwater Maintenance on a Grand Scale
Abstract
Walmart’s mission is to Save People Money So They Can Live Better. To execute on this mission Walmart must provide Every Day Low Prices by managing Every Day Low Costs. Walmart’s Compliance organization contributes to the company’s mission by doing things the right way, every day, thus saving money. Within that framework, the Stormwater Operations Compliance Program provides maintenance and compliance services to nearly 5,000 operating and former operating Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities across all 50 states and Puerto Rico. The program provides a robust service capable of maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, while staying flexible enough to meet the individual needs and characteristics of the facility and the community in which it operates. The operation of this program is only possible through a strong structure hinged on a commitment to compliance, skilled service providers, information systems, and active relationships with regulatory agencies.
