Abstract
In recent years, the Chesapeake Bay Program partners, including Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, and the District of Columbia, have committed to establishing and achieving substantial additional nutrient reductions as well as sediment reductions. Building on longstanding, successful cooperative efforts to upgrade POTWs in Maryland, Virginia and D.C. with biological nutrient removal, the Bay Program partners are seeking a second round of POTW upgrades and other implementation measures in furtherance of their water quality commitments memorialized in the Chesapeake 2000 Agreement.
