Mineral By-Products: Adding value to your Biosolids
Abstract
Cement kiln dust (CKD), Lime kiln dust (LKD) and coal combustion by-products (CCB) offer advantages and disadvantages in not only the stabilization of Biosolids, but more importantly how these minerals affect the marketability of Biosolids. There are three basic forms of CCBs: Class F Fly Ash, Class C Fly Ash, and Scrubber Materials. Scrubber materials can be broken down into two categories, which are: Flue Gas Desulphurization (FGD) and Fluidized Bed Ash (FBA). All of these materials offer distinct advantages and disadvantages depending on the market of the final product.
