Description: Modeling of Digester Mixing
Modeling of Digester Mixing
Abstract
Digesters can be monitored through a number of measurable parameters, but seeing what is going on inside the tank is difficult. Further, tools are needed to evaluate and optimize potential performance during design. Computation fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling is one promising tool for system operation during design, as well as troubleshooting operations. This study evaluated CFD model performance by comparing model results with recently commissioned anaerobic digesters.
