Fluid Bed Incinerators, Air Preheaters and Boilers: Understanding Their Performance to Maximize System Operational Flexibility
Abstract
Faced with the reality that the heat transfer surface of the installed air preheaters and boilers will be fixed and invariant, it is the purpose of this paper to provide engineers preparing specifications, and operators with the knowledge and tools to achieve the maximum extent practicable, the process flexibility necessary to meet the challenges of plant operation. This paper will cover the history of air preheaters and methods appropriate for developing flexibility for both air preheaters and boilers by covering an algorithmic approach.
