Three Years Experience With the Urbana Microwave Drying System
Abstract
Faced with increasing solids handling costs and proposed new more restrictive Ohio sludge rules the City of Urbana retained Wilbur Smith Associates to perform a Solids Handling System Master Plan and design. Installed in 2008 the City now has three years of operational experience with the innovative drying system. This paper will provide a brief description of the technology and our experience as designer, owner and operator of the Urbana Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) system.
