Abstract
1.0 INTRODUCTION The Fort Washington Way project is located towards the Ohio River, south of Third Street and the downtown core of the City of Cincinnati, bounded in general by Central Avenue in the west and Broadway in the east. This area of the City was serviced by a combined sewer system that drained to the south. The sewer system was built as a series of three city streets combining to one trunk sewer. Refer to Figure No. 1. The dry weather flow was passed from each of these trunk sewers to the East Branch of the Ohio River Interceptor, which runs east to west along an alignment that used to be Front Street on the way to the MSD Mill Creek Treatment Plant. In times of rainfall, the overflow from the combined system continued down the trunk sewers to overflow into the Ohio River.
