Hudson-Raritan Estuary Ecosystem Restoration Project: Implementation of Representative Restoration Sites and Estuary-wide Studies.

The United States Army Corps of Engineers has been authorized to conduct a feasibility study for the Hudson-Raritan Estuary Ecosystem Restoration Project. This project extends over the majority of the estuary, and includes the Port of New York and New Jersey. Included in the project area is Lower New York Bay (to the Sandy Hook-Rockaway transect), Upper New York Bay, Newark Bay, the Hackensack and Passaic Rivers to head of tide, the Shrewsbury-Navesink Estuary, the Kill van Kull and Arthur Kill, the Hudson River from the Battery to Croton Bay, the East and Harlem Rivers, and extreme western Long Island Sound.
