Removal of Particulate and Organic Matter from Municipal and Industrial Wastewaters Using Fine Mesh Rotating Belt Sieves
Abstract
The Salsnes Technology has been developed to work as a stand alone unit or an addition to primary wastewater treatment facilities. The process incorporates an continuous mesh screen that uses air as backwash therefore producing a high dry solids content waste. The technology has been widely accepted in Europe and work is being done in North and South America including installations and pilot testing. Results indicate equivalent or superior treatment to conventional systems while providing a number of advantages including reduces footprint and high dry solids content.
