IL HAN is a postdoc working with professor April Gu of Cornell University. He is investing the phylotypic and phenotypic characteristics of polyphosphate accumulating organisms in combined partial-nitritiation sidestream EBPR process. Before coming to Cornell, IL HAN worked with professor Peter Jaffe at Princeton University on the application of the Feammox process in wastewater treatment process and Daelim Industrial Ltd., South Korea, as an assistant manager of the international business team.IL HAN earned a bachelor of engineering in civil and environmental engineering at University College London, UK, and master and a doctorate at Yonsei University, South Korea.As a young scientist, he worked on the dissemination of microbial pollutants from agricultural / food industries. Now his research scope broadened to the field of microbial resilience, resource recovery, and water treatment.
