20 Years Later: Acrylamide Grout Proven as a Long-Term Solution to Control Infiltration
Abstract
Twenty years after an 8” and 10” diameter vitrified clay pipe (VCP) mainline and 6” diameter lateral grouting project was completed for the City of Naperville, Illinois (a suburb of Chicago), televised, air tested, and exhumed grouted lateral connections were still completely sealed, proving cured acrylamide injection grout is a long–term, dependable solution for infiltration and inflow. Independent third-party laboratory testing supports the claim on cured acrylamide injection n grout’s longevity. A common misbelief is that cured acrylamide injection grout will shrink underground overtime, and does not provide a long–term, permanent solution to control infiltration in sanitary sewer manholes, mainlines and laterals. This manuscript will address the topic of municipal grouting with acrylamide injection grout (AV-100 Chemical Grout) as a proven method for providing a long-term, reliable solution to control infiltration.
