Description: Accelerating Collection System Comprehensive Planning
Accelerating Collection System Comprehensive Planning
Abstract
This paper was presented at WEFTEC 2023 in Chicago, IL.
By integrating the remote (sewer level) monitoring and data analysis capabilities of SmartCover and Hazen and Sawyer, New Jersey American Water was able to efficiently isolate potential levels of inflow and infiltration (I&I) throughout its Bound Brook-area collection system. The company will use this fast track approach to prioritize investment much quicker than using traditional I&I studies. This approach will be used as a template for future acquisitions and planning.
