Cost-Effective Solution to Siloed WWTP and CSO Administrative Orders
Abstract
This paper was presented at WEFTEC 2023 in Chicago, IL.
In 2019, Water Pollution Control Authority of Bridgeport embarked on a comprehensive Facilities Plan to identify WWTP improvements to enable reliable service for the 30-year horizon. The plan, completed in 11/2020, recommended a complete upgrade & expansion of two WWTPs resulting in a more robust & resilient system that cost-effectively improves water quality through reliable treatment systems & the timely reduction of CSOs, while also addressing nitrogen discharges and resiliency requirements.
