Abstract
The 2nd Street Pump Station and Force Main Project (2nd St. PS) provides adaptive means of managing two major Wastewater Treatment plants and tributary sewer infrastructure during dry and wet weather by providing the ability to choose either: (a) what level to maintain in three interceptors during moderate wet weather events; or (b) how much flow to receive at either plant during heavy wet weather events. The Project includes instrumentation and programming, flow control configurations, side-by-side wet wells at 2nd St. PS, a diesel dry-prime pump system at 1st St. PS, reduced nutrient discharges from the treatment plants, decommissioning of a pump station, public park improvements, and was completed under budget and on time.
