The State of the Practice in Stormwater Design: A Guide to the 2012 WEF/ASCE Manual of Practice for Design of Urban Stormwater Controls
Abstract
The Water Environment Federation (WEF), with support of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), undertook the update of Manual of Practice (MOP) No. 23, Design of Urban Stormwater Controls, 2nd edition. The new MOP was published in June 2012. This new edition was developed by a task force of 15 authors and nearly 100 reviewers to reflect the state of the practice and the innovations that took place in the industry since the first edition was published in 1998. This paper provides an introduction to the MOP's treatment of advances in the science and design of stormwater controls.
