Abstract
Located in the Washington DC Metro area, Loudoun Water is a rapidly growing utility on the East Coast of the USA. Implementing a formal asset management program has been key in delivering on the organizations strategic goals and objectives including ensuring sustainable practices and predictable costs. Implementing asset management principles has been a core focus of the organization, requiring cross-functional collaboration to ensure success. The goal of this presentation is to provide additional details and lessons learned from applying asset management tools and techniques to small community system assets to help other utilities facing similar issues. Loudoun Water's is implementing its on-going asset management program through an integrated approach, including risk analysis, triple bottom line (TBL) frameworks, business case evaluations, and data and systems implementation and integration.
