ACHIEVING COMPLIANCE THE “PACT” WAY
Abstract
One of the key elements associated with obtaining and maintaining public acceptance for biosolids land application programs is compliance with regulatory requirements. Biosolids land application programs are subject to a myriad of different regulatory requirements at the federal, state, and local levels. To achieve compliance with these requirements, Wheelabrator Water Technologies Inc. – Bio Gro Division (the Company) has implemented a compliance assurance system referred to as PACT.The PACT program has four key elements – Prevention, Assessment, Corrective Action, and Training. This paper describes each of these elements and the program the Company has established under each of the elements.
