Watershed Planning for Greater Vancouver's Domestic Water supply
Abstract
This paper outlines a planning process for the management of the Capilano, Seymour and Coquitlam watersheds. These watersheds provide the Greater Vancouver area with a source of domestic water supply. A significant shift in management philosophy occurred requiring a new information base for the purpose of developing a new watershed management plan. An ecological inventory, scientific review and public input has guided the development of new watershed management plan. The planning process has spanned a decade and along the way experienced a variety of milestones influencing the final outcome of the watershed management plan.
