Abstract
Since every project and client has unique needs and situations, there is no single approach to designing a control system that works for every utility. Everything from how extensively the employees are involved, to the method for selecting the control system vendor, can vary greatly depending on how the utility does business and other business operations circumstances during the project timeframe. This paper explains two very different utilities and approaches used for the same kind of project, with both progressing well toward achieving defined goals.
