Abstract
The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District replaced an intercepting sewer with four methods of rehabilitation. The history of the sewer that began as a dual use canal flushing tunnel and interceptor sewer is covered to determine some of its unique characteristics. The methods of rehabilitation and the reasons for their selection are discussed. Historical research emphasized in conjunction with design work.
