ODOR CONTROL 911: SEVERAL TEAMS COME TOGETHER QUICKLY TO SOLVE SANITARY SEWER ODOR PROBLEM IN HENDERSON, NEVADA
Abstract
Problem Description Lake Las Vegas is a resort and residential community located in Henderson, Nevada, just east of the City of Las Vegas. The resort is divided into two sections surrounding Lake Las Vegas, known as the North Shore and South Shore. The South Shore sanitary sewer collection system consists of five lift stations and approximately 42,000 feet of pipe. The arid, hot climate in the Henderson area combined with the presence of the lift stations and low wastewater flows contributes to extremely high measured gas phase hydrogen sulfide concentrations in the collection system. Figure A1 presents a chart of typical hydrogen sulfide concentrations in the South Shore collection system.
