Optimizing the Design of a Commercial Ferry Treatment System Using Dynamic Modelling
Abstract
Dynamic modeling was effectively used to select amongst several potential BNR process designs for an on-board wastewater treatment system on a Greek passenger ferry. Once the preliminary process design choice had been made, the operation of the unit was further optimized for total nitrogen removal through dynamic model sensitivity analysis, providing the engineers with an optimal choice for process technology, process design, and process operation.
