DEVELOPING A DETAILED COLLECTION SYSTEM MODEL FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO SEWER MASTER PLAN
Abstract
The City of San Francisco is currently undertaking a significant master planning project which aims to develop a 30-year plan for the City's combined sewer and wastewater treatment system. A major cornerstone of the project involves the creation and application of a detailed hydraulic model of the City's sewer system to evaluate the effect of various alternatives on sewer system flows as well as Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) frequency and volumes. This paper details the methodology used for model development, calibration and use of the model for evaluating various alternatives.
