Construction of Stormwater Reservoir Applying Incline Plate Settlers
Abstract
In order to achieve the CSO control target by combining the uniquely developed “Wet Weather Wastewater Treatment Method” and the stormwater reservoir in Osaka City, Japan, where most city area has provided with the combined sewer system, it is difficult to obtain a new construction site because most sewerage plants are very small and the sites are occupied by main buildings and surrounded by urban facilities due to urbanization of the entire city. However, we found that the problem was able to be solved to reduce significantly the capacity of the stormwater reservoir by adopting continuous processing applying the incline plate settlers and the cost by constructing the combined facility, the stormwater reservoir under the riverbed and the earthquake-proof revetment of the river in cooperation with the river manager.
