IT Strategic Planning: Catalyst for Utility-Wide Performance Improvement
Abstract
The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) developed a Business Strategic Plan 2009–2013 including vision, mission, goals and strategies for improving performance. That plan identified information and automation technologies as critical to achieving those strategies and providing additional value to its customers. To align IT with business initiatives, the District developed, and is now implementing an IT Strategic Plan. This paper reviews these business and operational challenges; the approach to developing an IT Strategic Plan; and lessons learned.
