Abstract
For a biosolids product in the fertilizer marketplace, challenges come from three directions: biosolids regulations, fertilizer regulations, and competition. Anyone wanting to succeed in this marketplace must have a plan for addressing each of these challenges. Succeeding with a product in commerce requires knowledge and skills different from what is typically present in a government designed around local public service. The lessons learned by Milorganite® may be useful to others tempted to join Milorganite® at the local lawn and garden center.
