Abstract
AWWA Manual M1, Principles of Water Rates, Fees, and Charges is AWWA's top-selling manual of practice. Beginning in February 2007 AWWA's Rates and Charges Committee began reviewing and updating the 2000 5th edition of M1. The update is complete and the 6th edition will be ready for sale at the ACE 2012 conference.The chapter on System Development Charges was revised to address issues raised over the past decade. This paper summarizes key elements of the revised chapter.
