Testing and Modeling of Granular Medium Filters to Decrease Capital, Operational, and Maintenance Requirements and Comply with Effluent Requirements
Abstract
Methods of determining the optimum granular filter medium properties are discussed in this paper. Optimized design of granular medium filtration systems result in significant capital and operational savings while achieving the desired effluent quality. Filter design criteria are optimized utilizing a granular medium depth filtration model and results obtained from pilot studies or similar plants.
