Abstract
There are numerous ways to look at water quality and controls to protect the beneficial uses associated with a healthy waterbody. Given the varied approaches, is one better than the others, or is there a way to combine or integrate the approaches to better address protection of beneficial uses and achieve the water quality goals of the Federal Clean Water Act? This paper will look at the different approaches and discuss activities being undertaken by Clean Water Services and other watershed agencies to address water quality in a more holistic way.
