Abstract
Significant progress and improvements continue to be realized at the City of Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD), as the organization moves into the third year of a multi-year optimization project that upgrades staff skills as well as technology and redesigns business processes and practices. With a projected savings of $140 million annually, this project has a scope that touches nearly every area of the organization in an effort to help the organization become a world-class water/wastewater organization.
