Industrial Pretreatment & Wastewater Collections, Different Functions, Common Informational Needs

There are many common and overlapping functions that are shared between a city's industrial pretreatment department and its sanitary sewer collection system's maintenance and operations department (SSCSM'OD) that have never been revealed or identified between both departments. City's industrial pretreatment departments and their SSCSM&ODs normally do not communicate or maintain any kind of common database that can be shared between the two because they originated to fulfill two distinctively different objectives. Yet, both gather general information that can be of great value in the overall operations of the other. A database program can be developed with fields that can be of value to both departments and where GIS maps can be developed to aid in enhancing each of the department's objectives.
