Sales and Marketing of Alkaline Stabilized EQ Biosolids: The Nature's Blend Program
Abstract
One of the most elaborate programs the City of Warren, Ohio has been involved with is the implementation of our biosolids facility. During our research, we identified numerous areas where planning would be required to have a successful and sustainable beneficial reuse program. Not only would a smooth transition from our current sludge handling process be needed but also a targeted and detailed approach to public education would be necessary. A plan would also be required to convince City Council to invest the necessary monies to build a facility that would have regional capabilities. To achieve these goals, we developed a structured program that would convince the city to expend the necessary funds and begin to introduce the concept of waste-products-tofertilizer to the public simultaneously. A structured marketing program was implemented. Our marketing began with the process of facility design approval and funding.
