The Impacts of Water Treatment Plant Process and Chemicals on Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations and Permits
Abstract
Water Treatment Plants (WTPs) are permitted dischargers to Waste Water Treatment Plants (WWTPs) – or they should be. Their permitted discharges may cause problems for WWTPs in various environmental conditions, e.g. wet weather, high solids inventory, batch discharges, etc. Permitted discharges normally are monitored and quantified with their downstream impacts at least anticipated by WWTP staff. It is these impacts we will be concerned with in this paper.
