THE VARTECH WET OXIDATION PROCESS FOR SOLIDS DESTRUCTION: SUCCESSFUL OPERATION OF THE VERTICAL WELL WET OXIDATION VESSEL
Abstract
After almost three decades of experimentation, full-scale testing and de-bugging, Vertical Well Wet Oxidation (VWWO) technology is successfully operating at the VARTECH plant in Apeldoorn, Holland. Scaling and other operational problems which plagued the initial VWWO systems have been largely solved. Based upon this, a second plant which incorporates these improvements is scheduled for construction within the year, and the technology is believed to be ready for widespread use in municipal and industrial applications.
