Abstract
Many utility managers and wastewater professionals believe that odors are the biggest roadblock in the way of successful biosolids recycling or disposal programs. They reason that if biosolids odors can be reduced to the extent that the public does not perceive them as a nuisance, then the other public concerns of safety, disease, pathogen exposure, and what has simply been termed “the disgust factor” related to biosolids utilization programs, will also dissipate.
