SEPTIC TANK ELIMINATION IN VANCOUVER, WASHINGTON

Abstract

The City of Vancouver desires to protect its water resources from contamination from septic systems. The formation of Local Improvement Districts1 (LIDs) to construct sanitary sewers was not very successful. The city developed the Sewer Connection Incentive Program to extend sewers while addressing the concerns the citizens had with Local Improvement Districts. The Sewer Connection Incentive Program has been well received.
