This is an overview of, and introduction to, a series of presentations that will summarize the update to the Water Environment Federation's 1985 edition of Clarifier Design (MOP FD-8). This revised edition is more up to date and covers a broader range of clarifier applications (i.e., primary, tertiary, storm water, and secondary). The manual also addresses topics such as modeling, field testing, circular and rectangular clarifiers, clarifier performance monitoring and control, approaches from outside of the United States, and interlocking with solids-handling facilities.
