Abstract
Does a Biosolids Environmental Management System help meet regulatory compliance requirements and obtain public acceptance of an agency's biosolids management program? Is it a friendly system or does it hurt your agency when trying to gain acceptance? Local circumstances in California have created a dynamic environment for biosolids management. Several local jurisdictions are considering ordinances to ban or restrict biosolids land application to maintain local oversight on biosolids being applied in their County and to address public perception and nuisance issues related to biosolids use.
