Abstract
Concentrated Animal Feed Operations (CAFOs) can significantly impact the environment surrounding them, and in particular, impact the quality of the drinking water sources nearby. This paper summarizes the number and type of wastes that are produced by these CAFOs, and the potential impacts on the drinking water sources surrounding the operations. The regulatory issues of these operations are discussed.
