Abstract

When modeling complex systems, accurate representation of facilities is crucial in creating a tool to properly evaluate alternatives. Often, this includes detailed representation of how these facilities are operated. This paper details the methodology used for creating real-time control (RTC) rules to accurately mimic a complex, manually operated system for model calibration and alternatives analysis. Well developed RTC rules enabled the project team refine alternatives so that they became realistic in the context of the collection system operational rules.
