Encina's Approach to Solving the Biosollids Enigma
Abstract
The Encina Wastewater Authority (EWA), a joint powers agency, located in the north coast area of San Diego County, provides wastewater treatment and disposal services for six member agencies. This paper provides an overview on the steps EWA has taken over the last 5-years to address biosolids management issues through best management practices and its unique approach to expanding the plants treatment capacity by integrating biosolids and energy management.
