Abstract
This paper reports on the recent initiation and implementation of the wastewater program in the Florida Keys, focusing on the planning, design and construction considerations to accommodate the unique nature of the Keys; and, the physical, biological, and chemical unit processes selected for meeting the nutrient reduction requirements. Operational data on wastewater systems andservice areas now in operation for several years will be provided.
