Enterprise Resource Management System Implementation – A Sewer District Case Study
Abstract
The Sacramento Area Sewer District (District) implemented a new enterprise resource management system in stages from 2006 to 2009. This paper will discuss the lessons the District learned when migrating from a home-grown computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to MRO/IBM's Maximo 6 Enterprise Resource Management System (ERM). The District is now in the post implementation stage and has been using Maximo for 10 months. Every project has its bumps; however, these represent valuable opportunities for learning Properly understood and implemented, these lessons can translate into significant time and money savings in future projects.
