Controlling a Large CIP Using a Project Clearinghouse Team

The proper planning and implementation of a municipal capital improvement program (CIP) has become even more critical in recent years as organizations look to do more with less financial resources. Some organizations are using advanced software programs to assist with important triple bottom line analysis of projects to rank and prioritize. Other organizations are reorganizing to better implement their CIP. With increased public scrutiny of municipal spending comes the need for more systematic and transparent methods to assure that waste, fraud and mismanagement does not occur. These issues are requiring municipal organizations to become more effective in their CIP implementation and this session will highlight some of the latest trends in this area.
