Boxelder Sanitation District Gets Strategic with EUM

This presentation is the story of how and why Boxelder Sanitation District (BSD) built and implemented its “first ever” strategic plan. It describes the three-phase process that was used to build a core planning document, a related communication strategy, and an effective implementation plan, and then describes how the plan is being implemented, month-by-month, initiative by initiative, success after success. The story will be co-presented by the District Manager and the Chair of the Board of Directors, displaying both the practical and functional parts of the planning and implementation process, as well as the supportive and collaborative side of things, including how the Board participated in the development of the plan and the role the Board plays during implementation. Importantly, the presentation will also share the valuable lessons learned by BSD for managers and board members at other small and medium utilities to consider.
