Abstract
Chlorine has long been used in waste water and water plants for a variety of applications. Whether used as a gas, sodium hypochlorite, or calcium chloride, chlorine breaks down into free chlorine, which provides oxidation and disinfection. Chlorine gas is typically fed under vacuum for maximum safety. Used properly, chlorine is a cost effective, commercially available disinfectant and powerful oxidizer.
